The grand opening for a prominent rest area on the Western Kentucky Parkway is this Friday.
The Finance and Administration Cabinet said in a release on Wednesday the formal opening is at 2 p.m.
Illinois-based company Martin and Bayley will operate the rest area under the Huck’s brand. The company has a 20-year contract with Kentucky to renovate, reconstruct and operate the location.
The rest stop had closed in January 2017.
Beaver Dam is about midway between Eddyville and Elizabethtown.
The rest stop is open 24/7.
