Dr. Keith Carver has been confirmed as the new chancellor at the University of Tennessee at Martin.
Carver is the executive assistant to University of Tennessee president Joe DiPietro, who recommended Carver for the job. As chancellor, Carver will report directly to DiPietro and serve as chief executive officer of UT Martin.
The previous chancellor, Tom Roakes, stepped down last year. Robert Smith has served in an interim capacity since then.
Former Murray State University provost and vice president for academic affairs Jay Morgan was one of the finalists for the position.
