The McCracken County Public Schools Board of Education will meet Thursday night to discuss and vote on changes to the district facilities plan. Superintendent Nancy Waldrop will recommend moving Reidland Middle School students into the newer portion of the currently vacant Reidland High School for the 2014-2015 school year.
Reidland Middle’s 356 students are currently in an older building which MCPS spokeswoman Jayme Jones says needs updating.
The move also allows additional time to prepare for the Reidland Intermediate School opening in the fall of 2015.
At the specially-called meeting, Waldrop will also recommend Reidland and Farley elementary schools maintain their current grade configurations and locations for next year.
