A fire broke out at Ferrell’s Hamburgers in Hopkinsville late Thursday night.

Hopkinsville Fire Department Captain Michael Pendleton said dispatch received a call at 11:30 p.m. Upon arrival, they found heavy flames and smoke coming out of the front and the sides of the building. He said there’s a lot of smoke and fire damage.

“There were two employees in the business at the time and they evacuated promptly and there were no patrons in the restaurant at the time of the fire,” Pendleton said. “There were no injuries reported.”

Pendleton said the fire came from the grill and 15 firefighters from three stations were on the scene and it took two minutes to put the fire out.

Ferrell’s has operated in Hopkinsville since 1929. Ferrell’s in Madisonville suffered from a similar fire last September and reopened last month.
