Ford Motor Company is investing $900 million in upgrades to their truck plant in Louisville.
The auto manufacturer said on Tuesday the funds go towards building new Expedition and Lincoln Navigator vehicles and secure 1,000 hourly jobs.
The company plans exporting the new vehicles to 55 countries and emphasizes growing the Chinese market.
Ford invested $1.3 billion in the Kentucky plant in 2015. The facility employs 7,600 full-time hourly workers.
Ford is also shifting some Focus manufacturing in 2019 from Mexico to China to be exported to the U.S.
