Former McCracken County Sheriff Serving As Interim Graves County Sheriff

via mccrackencountysheriff.com

Graves County Judge-Executive Jesse Perry has appointed retired McCracken County Sheriff Jon Hayden as interim Graves County Sheriff.

Former sheriff Dewayne Redmon was indicted on drug possession charges in August and re-elected in November. He died last month. Hayden said some may distrust the sheriff’s office.

“It’s my job to try to bridge that gap and try to mend some relationships that have been broken over these unfortunate chain of events that have occured recently here in Graves County,” Hayden said.

Hayden will serve until a November election decides who will carry out the remainder of Redmon’s term. Hayden retired as McCracken County sheriff last June after serving 12 years in the position. He is from Graves County.
