Grand Jury Set for Third Day of Testimony on McCracken Zoning Issue

The special prosecutor handling allegations of zoning misconduct in McCracken County confirms that a grand jury will convene Friday for a third day of testimony.

Commonwealth attorney G.L. Ovey says he will be in court Friday at 10 a.m., but could not confirm any other details of the grand jury proceedings.

McCracken County Judge-Executive Van Newberryreceived criticism in May for allegedly altering zoning maps without going through the proper channels.

Sheriff Jon Hayden, Commonwealth Attorney Dan Boaz and County Attorney Mike Murphy filed the complaint with the Kentucky Attorney General’s office.
