Graves County Man To Serve As Grand Marshal In Inaugural Parade

A Graves County man will serve as the grand marshal in Governor-Elect Andy Beshear’s inaugural parade.

Matt Powell will ride in the lead car as the parade makes its way to the Capitol building. Powell is the custodial supervisor at Central Elementary School in Graves County. He is a member of the board of directors of both the Kentucky Education Association and the Kentucky Education School Professionals Association. Powell received state and national awards last year as Education Support Professional of the Year.

The inaugural parade will take place Tuesday in Frankfort. Andy Beshear will become the 63rd Governor of the Commonwealth.

 

Dalton York is a Morning Edition host and reporter for WKYU in Bowling Green. He is a graduate of Murray State University, where he majored in History with a minor in Nonprofit Leadership Studies.
