The Importance of Sleep for a Happy, Healthy Mind

www.pexels.com

All-nighters, burning the midnight oil, tossing and turning in the early morning hours -- sleep deprivation is a widespread phenomena, but is often overlooked as a contributing factor to higher stress levels, inattentiveness, and other mental health issues. Dr. Michael Bordieri visits Sounds Good to discuss the importance of sleep to our overall health.

Lack of attentiveness or ability to deal with stress can often be linked back to as little as a half hour to an hour of sleep deprivation per night. Many aspects of modern society, including smart phones, consumption of highly caffeinated beverages, and working from home, have caused the rigidity of bedtime structures to loosen. Dr. Michael Bordieri visits Sounds Good to discuss the significance sleep has in the context of overall mental health, as well as steps to take to achieve a more efficient bedtime routine and a good night's rest.
