A Japanese metal manufacturer is setting up shop in Hopkinsville.
Yamakin is a trading and procurement company that specializes in wrought copper, light metal, stainless steel and wire products.
According to the South Western Kentucky Economic Development Council, Yamakin acquired the 16,000 square-foot Brymak Building this week.
The company purchased the Commerce Industrial Park facility for more than 500,000 dollars.
The company plans to hire five employees within the first year to start its warehousing business and expects to expand into light assembly and manufacturing in a few years.
