Japanese Manufacturer Yamakin Expands Into Hopkinsville

A Japanese metal manufacturer is setting up shop in Hopkinsville.

Yamakin is a trading and procurement company that specializes in wrought copper, light metal, stainless steel and wire products.


According to the South Western Kentucky Economic Development Council, Yamakin acquired the 16,000 square-foot Brymak Building this week.


The company purchased the Commerce Industrial Park facility for more than 500,000 dollars.


​The company plans to hire five employees within the first year to start its warehousing business and expects to expand into light assembly and manufacturing in a few years.
