Kentucky's corn production this year is forecasted to be at its highest in ten years, according to surveys taken by the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service.
NASS deputy director Barry Adams said that corn yield for October is forecasted to be at 180 bushels per acre, which is up by two bushels from last year and up three bushels from September.
NASS surveys agricultural producers each month to forecast crop yields.
Adams said that planting this year was similar to previous years, but that overall good weather conditions could have aided the improved corn yields.
