Emergency management officials in west Kentucky say people should be mindful of quick-flooding during two storms this week.
The National Weather Service is expecting between five to seven inches of rain through Sunday.
Monica French is a Public Information Officer with Kentucky Office of Emergency Management Post 1. She said people should heed weather watches and be mindful of their surroundings and alternate routes.
“You never want to enter flooding waters,” French said. “That means walking into or driving into any flooded water area."
French said people should be aware of quick-flooding areas and “always check on your neighbor.”
She said people should always have a preparedness kit to sustain each person in their family for 72 hours.
KYEM is monitoring incoming weather and say they are ready to respond to calls for assistance.
