Police said on Thursday they received a complaint from a Graves County High School resource officer who had learned of a possible inappropriate relationship between a 16-year-old student and an adult.

Following an investigation, police arrested 28-year-old David Darnell of Mayfield.

Darnell is charged with promoting a sexual performance by a minor under 18, unlawful transaction with a minor first-degree illegal sex act under 18 and possession/viewing material portraying a sexual performance by a minor.

Trooper Brian Luckett is continuing an investigation.
