Ky Justice Cabinet to Award $2M to Combat Violence Against Women

Kentucky Justice and Public Safety Cabinet Secretary John Tilley said on Monday his cabinet is awarding nearly two million dollars in grants to applicants to combat violence against women. 

According to a release, the funds can be used to develop and strengthen law enforcement, judicial strategies and victim services in cases involving violence against women. Crimes include domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking and dating violence.

Applications are due to the justice department websiteby September 15. The awards will be announced in January.

The funding is available through the STOP Violence Against Women Act.
