The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is holding a public meeting this month about the preferred alternative route for the widening of U.S. 641 between Fredonia and Eddyville.
District 1 Chief Engineer Kyle Poat said people who use that portion of U.S. 641 and those who live along the corridor should attend the meeting on August 27.
Engineers, design staff and consultants will share information and displays about the preliminary route.
The meeting is 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church gymnasium in Fredonia. Roughly 3,000 vehicles travel the existing U.S. 641 between Fredonia and Eddyville in an average day.
