The McCracken County Sheriff’s Office in a release Monday said a chief deputy has resigned due to an alleged ethics violation.

Sheriff Matt Carter in a statement said he looked into a potential violation on January 7 that resulted in Chief Deputy Mike Turnbow resigning.

Carter said the alleged violation was related to a proposed “scheduling fee” for off-duty employment. He said the violation allegedly took place while the employee in question was on duty.

Carter also said he’s consulting with Attorney General Daniel Cameron to determine if criminal violations were committed.
