MSU President Talks Funding Challenges, the 2016 KY General Assembly, and Student Diversity

Murray State University

This holiday season, many people are looking forward to a bit of a break before heading into the new year.  But for Murray State University President Bob Davies, that break is tempered with the knowledge that January 2016 is a budget year for the Kentucky General Assembly.  This likely means a renewed debate over higher education funding in the Commonwealth.  Dr. Davies sits down with Todd Hatton to talk about what else is ahead for MSU in 2016 and what's been achieved in 2015.

Todd Hatton hails from Paducah, Kentucky, where he got into radio under the auspices of the late, great John Stewart of WKYX while a student at Paducah Community College. He also worked at WKMS in the reel-to-reel tape days of the early 1990s before running off first to San Francisco, then Orlando in search of something to do when he grew up. He received his MFA in Creative Writing at Murray State University. He vigorously resists adulthood and watches his wife, Angela Hatton, save the world one plastic bottle at a time.
