MSU's Tony Brannon to Receive Award for Contribution to Agriculture Education

Murray State University

The dean of the Murray State University Hutson School of Agriculture is being recognized by the National Association of Agricultural Educators.

MSU’s Tony Brannon will receive the Outstanding Service Citation award at the 2014 NAAE convention in Nashville next month.

"I am extremely humbled by having been selected for the Outstanding Service award by the National Association of Agricultural Education," said Brannon. "Some of the best times of my career were spent as a beginning high school agriculture teacher. Since that time, I have devoted myself as a teacher, educator and an administrator to striving to serve the profession, teachers and the students of agricultural education and FFA."

The Citation award recognizes a member from NAAE’s six geographic regions who have made significant contributions to agricultural education at the state, regional and national levels.  The NAAE advocates for and provides professional development for agricultural educators across the nation and works to recruit and retain educators in the profession.

The convention takes place November 18 through 22.

Monsanto is sponsoring the award as a special project of the National FFA Foundation.
