Murray Stabbing Suspect In Police Custody

Murray State University Police

A suspect involved in a stabbing early Wednesday morning in Murray is in custody.

Murray Police Department said 22-year-old Maurice Redmond of Clarksville allegedly stabbed 24-year-old Dalvin Dixon after a brief altercation.

A police report said two males in ski masks and dark clothing had forced their way into a residence on South 15th Street. Dixon recognized one of the suspects after pulling off his mask.

Police arrested 18-year-old Trajan Yates of Lacenter. Redmond was later found. Both were charged with first degree assault and burglary, class B felonies. Police also charged 18-year-old Hannah Porter of Calloway County with complicity.

Dixon was transported to Murray Calloway County Hospital. Police said the event was not a random home invasion and that suspects had prior motive and a specific victim.
