Murray State President Jackson On Racer Basketball, Budget Planning, More

The Murray State Racers are Ohio Valley Conference champions, heading to the NCAA for the 17th time; the university has a new president and athletic director, preliminary enrollment numbers for spring are in and budget planning is underway for the next fiscal year. On Sounds Good, Matt Markgraf speaks with the university’s 14th president Dr. Bob Jackson about these topics, as well as what makes Murray State a “disruptor” with regard to standing out from other higher ed institutions and his thoughts on this year’s legislative session. 

Matt Markgraf joined the WKMS team as a student in January 2007. He's served in a variety of roles over the years: as News Director March 2016-September 2019 and previously as the New Media & Promotions Coordinator beginning in 2011. Prior to that, he was a graduate and undergraduate assistant. He is currently the host of the international music show Imported on Sunday nights at 10 p.m.
