Murray State President To Seek 3% Tuition Increase

Full-time Murray State students will see a 3 percent tuition hike next semester if a proposal by President Bob Davies passes the Board of Regents.

That is about a $100 increase for students on campus compared to a $300 hike for those that live off campus. During a forum Wednesday night, Davies claimed rising costs and perpetual budget cuts brought about the decision.

Paired with last year’s five percent hike, the jump hits the two-year maximum permitted by the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education. The MSU Board of Regents will hear Davies’ proposal at their monthly meeting Friday.
