Murray State Receives Discrepancy-Free Reaccreditation Report

The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges says it has reaffirmed Murray State University’s accreditation without any recommendations.

The announcement was made at SACSCOC’ annual meeting this week.

SACSCOC is the regional body for accrediting higher education institutions in the South which need to be reaccredited every 10 years.

MSU President Bob Davies praised the deficiency-free report.

“The fact that our reaffirmation comes with zero recommendations and no deficiencies demonstrates our commitment to not only meeting, but exceeding, the standards of accountability and quality," said Davies. “The SACSCOC review process is regarded throughout the country as being among the most rigorous and in-depth; therefore, receiving a deficiency-free report is very uncommon and something we all should be very proud to receive.”

MSU began its current reaccreditation process in 2011.

An on-site review team visited the campus in February marking no recommendations on the school's reaccreditation submission.

Rob Canning is a native of Murray, KY, a 2015 TV Production grad of Murray State. At MSU, he served as team captain of the Murray State Rowing Club. Rob's goal is to become a screenwriter, film director or producer and looks to the likes of Quentin Tarantino and Guy Ritchie for inspiration. He appreciates good music, mainly favoring British rock n' roll, and approves of anything with Jack White's name on it. When not studying, rowing or writing, Rob enjoys spending his free time with a book or guitar.
