The Ohio River Valley Water Sanitation Commission is looking for volunteers for a riverbank cleanup Saturday.
The Ohio River Sweep extends across the six states that border the river and its tributaries. Last year, the sweep collected 320 tons of trash from 3,000 miles of shoreline.
In Kentucky, Ballard, Daviess, Henderson, Livingston and McCracken counties have organized riverbank locations for volunteers to pick up litter.
In Massac County, Illinois, the sweep has been rescheduled due to high water levels. The sweep will continue in Pulaski, Pope and Hardin counties.
People interested in the cleanup can find where to volunteer at orsanco.org.
