Paducah Tilghman High School’s head cheerleading coach has resigned. WPSD-TV reported David Wade submitted his resignation Wednesday.

WKMS previously reported Wade was arrested Monday on a charge of tampering with physical evidence. The Paducah Police Department in a past release said Wade allegedly texted cheerleaders a sexually explicit video.

Police said he then allegedly deleted the video from his phone and asked the cheerleaders to also delete the text message. A representative with the McCracken Circuit Court Clerk’s office told WKMS that Wade pleaded not guilty to the charge at an arraignment Tuesday. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for September 24.
