Playhouse in the Park Presents 'Little Women The Musical'

Kate Lochte, WKMS

Murray's Playhouse in the Park brings Little Women The Musical to the stage, opening tomorrow. Based on Louisa May Alcott's beloved book, the humorous and heart wrenching classic novel follows the story of Jo March and her sisters experiencing growing up in Civil War America. On Sounds Good, Kate Lochte gets a preview with Music Director Brad Brauser and Kala Little who plays Jo.

Kala Little says the musical tells the story of Jo March and her struggles to fulfill her dreams of becoming a famous writer. She starts writing stories in her attic and sends them to publishers in New York. She eventually gets published and returns home when she learns one of her sisters has fallen ill. She then struggles to make it back to New York, but finds that the story she needs to write is the one of her sisters and the strength between them.

Brad Brauser says the song-filled production is just over two hours and has many heartfelt moments (so bring tissues).
