The preliminary autopsy results of an inmate found dead at the McCracken County Jail on Friday show suicide and no suspected foul play as the cause of death.

Kentucky State Police said in a release on Tuesday jail staff found 35-year-old Ronald Ledbetter of Smithland hanging in his cell.

He was serving a sentence for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, wanton endangerment and unlawful transaction with a minor.

KSP Post 12 had an active investigation into Ledbetter and an indictment warrant out of Anderson County for rape of a victim under 12, sexual abuse of a victim under 12, sexual abuse and complicity to unlawful transaction of an illegal controlled substance with a minor.

The death investigation continues.
