Republican Marshall County Judge/Executive Kevin Neal is keeping his seat following Tuesday’s election.

Neal won with nearly 8,600 votes against Democratic state Representative Will Coursey, who decided not to run for re-election to take on Neal, yet only garnered a little more than 6,000 votes.

Neal has said that he plans on fiscal responsibility when working with the county budget.

Also in Marshall County, Republican Eddie McGuire was elected Sheriff, defeating Democrat Kevin Byars. McGuire has said he plans to reallocate funds to combat the opioid crisis with additional units.
