An investigation found the 14-year-old male student was overheard telling another student “I placed a bomb in the building.”

The student was located and escorted to the office and questioned about the statement. He admitted tom making the statement in an attempt to make his friend smile because he said his friend was having a bad day.

Police took the threat seriously and searched the school, involving the K-9 unit.
