(Update) Kentucky State Police Identify Human Remains Found in Trigg County

2nd Update: Kentucky State Police has identified the body as 33-year-old Christina Edmonson of Cadiz. According to a release, results of a preliminary examination of the body at the Kentucky Medical Examiner's Office in Madisonville were inconclusive as to the cause of death. A full autopsy is scheduled for Thursday. KSP searched two residences on Oak Grove Church Road for evidence related to the investigation.

Update: Kentucky State Police have found the body of a female in Trigg County while searching for clues related to other human remains recently discovered nearby.

Police believe the body goes with the skull found in a yard Tuesday by a resident on Oak Grove Church Road. The body was found in a wooded area Tuesday night. The body was turned over to the county coroner.

Both will be taken to the Kentucky Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy. The autopsy will attempt to confirm whether the two remains are related and the cause and date of death.

Kentucky State Police are investigating human remains found in Trigg County. 

According to a release, a property owner notified local dispatch that remains of suspected human origin were located on Oak Grove Church Road. Police met the caller, who took them to the remains. They were then collected and turned over to Trigg County Coroner John Mark Vinson.

The Kentucky Medical Examiner's Office will examine them to confirm their origin. If they are confirmed human remains KSP will attempt to identify the person.

Troopers, detectives and other agencies remain on the scene, searching for further evidence.
