(Updating) Tornado Warnings in the Region This Afternoon

8:26: In second tornado near Trigg/Christian County line, Ky State Police troopers report structural damage to barns near KY 126 north of KY 129, no homes damaged.  

7:53: A tornado warning issued for Hopkinsville until 8:15  

7:25:  According to Kentucky State Police initial reports say 10 individuals transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. No fatalities reported at this time.

 7:15:  Most significant damage in Mayfield appears to be on Wayne Drive, just north of the city. 1st Baptist Church Pastor Wes Fowler says not as many families displaced as anticipated, 6 or 7 families in need.

6:39:  A Tornado Warning for Caldwell and Christian ending at 7:21 p.m.

6:34: Tornado warning for Marion KY, Crittenden Co. until 7 . Severe thunderstorm warning for Christian Co. until 7.

5:26:  According to Jackson Purchase Medical Center a few injuries reported. 

5:20: Per NWS: Funnel clouds reported east of Hanson (north of Madisonville). Tornado warning issued for Daviess, McLean, Muhlenberg until 6. 

5:17: Tornado warning in Hardin and Pope, Illinois until 5:45

5:08: The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Watch for Massac, Pope, Ballard, Calloway, Carlisle, Crittenden, Fulton, Graves, Hickman, Livingston, Lyon, McCracken, Marshall, Trigg, Henry, Obion and Weakley ending at 11:04 pm   

5:07:  West Kentucky Rural Electric reports at one time power outage reached 6,000, mostly in Graves County.

5:00: NWS issues Tornado Warning for Christian, Hopkins, Muhlenberg until 5:45. Spotters report funnel cloud in Hanson, Hopkins Co.  

4:53: Hopkins Co. EMA says cloud rotating in Hanson, reports pea size hail  

4:48: NWS issues tornado warning for Johnson and Pope in Illinois until 5:15. Also, Calhoun, Madisonville and Sacramento KY until 5:15.  

4:45: Shelter open at 1st Baptist Church on 8th Street in Mayfield. Mayor Cantrell asks people to not come out to see the damage. Says biggest issue is traffic.

4:43:  Rotation over Nebo heading towards Hanson. Warnings issued for Hopkins, McLean until 5:15. 

4:35: Tornado warning for SE Caldwell Co, SE Hopkins Co, NE Trigg Co, N Christian Co until 5 p.m.  Severe storm located over Cobb, 10m south of Dawson Springs moving east at 35 mph. 

4:25:   121 north and HWY 45 near Mayfield reporting significant damage with trees and power lines down HWY 121

4:20:  NWS: Spotter reports funnel cloud headed towards I-24 in Lyon County within next 20 minutes.

4:15: Per National Weather Service - A Tornado warning for Southeastern Caldwell Co, Southeastern Lyon Co. Northeastern Trigg Co. until 4:45 p.m. Severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado located 8 miles northwest of Cadiz, moving east at 40 MPH

Marshall Co. School Systems have canceled all after school programs. Buses are in route to return kids home, there are reports of debris on roads so expect delays. 

121 north and HWY 45 reporting  significant damage, should be road blockage

Power is off at the Graves County Sheriff's Department and radios are out. Directing calls to Kentucky State Police.

Damage has been reported in east Benton, and Mayfield. One trailer court has been hit in Graves County with extensive damage reported. Red Cross is on standby to set up a possible shelter.

Tornado warning for Calloway has expired with no damage reported.

Forecast:

Mostly cloudy tonight with a 40 percent chance of showers. Lows around 66. Partly sunny tomorrow, a 30 percent chance of showers, highs near 84.
