Western Ky Schools Make The Cut in Another Round of Work Ready Skills Finalists

via Kentucky Education, Workforce and Development Cabinet's Facebook Page

The Kentucky Education and Workforce Development Cabinet has narrowed down their list of finalists from 39 schools to 24. In western Kentucky, Paducah Public Schools, Caldwell County Schools and West Kentucky Community and Technical College are in the running to receive their requested funding from a pool of $65 million dollars.

Education Cabinet Spokeswoman Kim Brannock says this is not the final round, and that the committee will meet in January to narrow down the 24 schools. She says the committee wants more information before moving forward, including budget specifics and additional project details.  The committee has reserved an additional $35 million dollars for a second round of funding in 2017.
