Yarmuth and McConnell React to Iran Nuclear Deal Changes

OFFICIAL PHOTO, PUBLIC DOMAIN

Kentucky’s lone Democratic Congressman says President Trump’s decision to decertify Iran’s compliance with the Obama-era nuclear agreement jeopardizes international security and weakens the United State’s position as a global leader.

In a release Friday,  John Yarmuth said the President is disregarding the conclusions of U.S. military leadership, the State Department, the Intelligence community and United Nations’ nuclear inspectors.

Meanwhile Republican Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell praised the President’s actions calling them appropriate and vital to U.S. security interests. He pledged support to the Trump Administration to constrain Iran’s support for terrorism.
