Barkley Regional Airport Manager Announces Retirement

MATT MARKGRAF, WKMS

Long-time Barkley Regional Airport manager Richard Roof announced his retirement Friday.

Roof has held the position for 45 years. He said several projects at the airport are coming within the next three to four years and “someone who will have the time to work with those projects needs to be on board.”

Roof said this includes additional runway work, terminal work and other projects. He said a nationwide search will begin soon to fill his position.

Roof’s retirement is effective September 30.
