Seven far west Kentuckians will serve on Governor-elect Andy Beshear’s transition team as he prepares to become Governor of the commonwealth next month.

Gov.-elect Andy Beshear has assembled his transition team, a group of 163 people who will help put together the administration that will run Kentucky’s government for the next four years.

  In his successful 2007 gubernatorial run, Steve Beshear lost 28 counties, winning the state’s other 92. He also lost only 28 counties in his winning reelection bid in 2011.

Democrat Andy Beshear says he is Kentucky’s new Governor-Elect. Multiple media outlets have called the close race between Beshear and incumbent Republican Governor Matt Bevin.

Governor Bevin said Tuesday night that the race, separated by about 4,500 votes, was a "squeaker" and has refused to concede.
