  The Murray City Council unanimously approved an ordinance Thursday to lower the city’s alcohol sales tax as part of a lawsuit settlement with a local alcohol beverage company that alleged the sales tax was excessive.

In those speeches, the newly-elected Calloway County judge executive also announced the formation of a special group on county library renovations.

A former Murray Independent School District superintendent said he only “skimmed” documents provided by a Murray High School alumna concerned about a former teacher’s behavior.

A Murray High School alumna is making public claims that a former teacher engaged in years of inappropriate conduct with students and predatory sexual grooming. She also claims the school turned a blind eye to the teacher’s activities, some of which are now under Kentucky Education Professional Standards Board (EPSB) and Kentucky State Police investigations.
