Livingston County is providing sand and bags for residents of the Ledbetter area to protect their homes from rising floodwaters.

  Much of Smothers Park along the Owensboro riverfront remains under water from recent rains and floodwaters. The Ohio River crested near 48 feet on Tuesday, about eight feet above flood stage.

Paducah city crews are installing the floodgates that protect the city from the rising Ohio River.

Citizens in nine southeast Kentucky counties are beginning to assess the impact of widespread weekend flooding.

The City of Paducah is holding a meeting Monday to review the city’s Comprehensive Storm Water Master Plan.

At least two people have been killed as the Houston area continues to be inundated by torrential rain and catastrophic flooding from Tropical Storm Harvey, which officials called an "unprecedented" weather event that has left thousands of homes flooded, stranding some people and overwhelming rescue workers.

Counties surrounding the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers are facing high flood levels after the region received several inches of rain over the weekend. National Weather Service Hydrologist Mary Lamb said flood levels are reaching about 35 feet in Smithland and as high as 46 feet further west in Cairo, Illinois.
