Protesters at Jefferson Square Park say gunfire was directed at their gathering Saturday evening. Witnesses described a car containing white men and adorned with a large Trump 2020 flag circling the square before at least one of the men shot several rounds into the air. 

The justice system failed Breonna Taylor, says Tamika Palmer, the mother of the emergency room technician whom police shot and killed in her own apartment in March. She says Kentucky's attorney general was not up to the job of achieving justice for Taylor.

A few dozen cyclists rode their bikes from downtown’s Jefferson Square Park to Breonna Taylor‘s apartment Sunday, and as they got closer, Carlos Fish said he felt “an energy.”

Louisville Metro Police announced Sunday that it will no longer allow protest caravans, permit protesters to occupy streets or block traffic. LMPD said its decision comes after an increase in “aggressive behavior” on the part of protesters in recent days.

More than a hundred people held a vigil in Jefferson Square Park Sunday night for Tyler Gerth – a 27-year-old photographer who was shot and killed Saturday night. Police say Gerth was struck by a bullet when a man opened fire in the park during a protest over the police killing of Breonna Taylor.

Authorities in Louisville, Ky., have identified the victim in a fatal Saturday night shooting in a park where demonstrators gathered to protest the police killing of Breonna Taylor.

Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer said Sunday that 27-year-old Tyler Gerth died shortly after a shooter opened fire into a group of protesters in Jefferson Square Park.

In a fourth consecutive night of protests in Louisville, hundreds filled Jefferson Square Park downtown shortly before the city’s temporary 9 p.m. curfew went into effect. The demonstrators were protesting the killing of 26-year-old Breonna Taylor in March by Louisville police, as well as other police killings of Black people like George Floyd in Minneapolis.
