A Lexington man's conviction for violating the city's ban on begging has reached the Kentucky Supreme Court, which heard arguments in the case Friday. Police cited Dennis Champion, who was holding a homemade sign asking for money, for violating Lexington's panhandling ordinance during the holiday season in 2014. 

For the first time in more than a decade, there’s a confirmed West Nile virus case in the Lexington area. Health officials remind central Kentuckians complications from West Nile are rare.

Officials in Kentucky are monitoring a day care center after an investigation found that employees required children to be hit before they could get a snack. 

A woman with 35 years of experience evaluating and treating adult sex offenders is leading training sessions throughout Kentucky.  One such program attracted well over 100 people Monday in Lexington.

A Kentucky abortion has lost its appeal to the state's Supreme Court in an effort to reopen. The EMW Women's Clinic in Lexington has been closed since June, when the state Court of Appeals granted Governor Matt Bevin's request to close it.

Public health officials in Lexington say the Zika virus has been confirmed in an infant born to a woman who traveled to a virus-prone area.  

Test results from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention indicate the infant was exposed to the virus in the womb.

Thousands turned out in downtown Lexington over the weekend for Pride 2016. Organizers of the LGBT-focused event were predicting crowds larger than last year’s total of about 25,000.
