The CEO of Benton-based Community Financial and Services Bank took part in the 2017 Independent Community Bankers of America Summit at the White House this week. Betsy Flynn joined more than 100 other bank representatives to meet with President Donald Trump and other top officials to discuss lifting regulatory burdens that restrict community banks.

  Two area Christian faith leaders are expressing opposition to President Donald Trump’s executive order related to immigration and refugees.

The head of the Kentucky International Center in Bowling Green said he is disappointed by President Trump’s proposed plan to restrict the flow of refugees to the U.S.  Albert Mbanfu said it’s now unlikely that any Syrian refugees will be coming to Bowling Green. He added that it puts them in a real dilemma.
