Ky. October Unemployment Rate Remains At 4.5 Percent From September

Kentucky’s seasonally adjusted preliminary unemployment rate for October remained unchanged from September’s 4.5 percent. That’s according to the Kentucky Center for Statistics.

The state jobless rate is down 0.1 percentage points from the same time last year. The U.S. Department of Labor says the national jobless rate for October is 3.7 percent, also unchanged from the previous month.

Kentucky added almost 1,600 people to a civilian labor force of over 2 million individuals. The number unemployed increased by roughly 1,400 people.

The state’s manufacturing sector gained roughly 1,600 jobs from September to October while the professional and business sector lost 2,300 jobs.
