Campanile Productions, Hopkinsville’s primary community theater company, is bringing a new spectacular production of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella to the Alhambra Theater, March 13th through the 17th. Tickets are on sale now.
The timeless enchantment of a magical fairy tale is reborn in this production with the same Rodgers & Hammerstein hallmarks of originality, charm and elegance. First presented on television in 1957 starring Julie Andrews, Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella was the most widely viewed program in the history of the medium. The version to be performed is a contemporary take on the classic tale of Cinderella and features Rodgers and Hammerstein’s most beloved songs, including “In My Own Little Corner,” “Impossible / It’s Possible,” and “Ten Minutes Ago,” alongside an up-to-date, hilarious and romantic libretto by Tony Award-nominee Douglas Carter Beane.
Tickets to the four evening and two matinee performances can be purchased at campanileproductions.com. Frequent attendees of Campanile’s shows will notice that ticket prices have been raised slightly to reflect the higher production costs. However, new child ticketing has been included to maintain affordability for larger families. An early bird discount of $5 is being offered to all patrons who purchase their tickets before February 13th through the use of coupon code EARLY BIRD 24 at checkout. Tickets will be sold at the door as available, but guests are highly encouraged to order online ahead of time.
