Baptist Health Reduces Imaging Rates in Response to Anthem Policy Change

Baptist Health Paducah, Facebook

Baptist Health has reduced rates for physical therapy, computerized tomography - or CT - and magnetic resonance imaging - or MRI - scans following a recent policy change by health insurer Anthem.

Baptist Health Public Relations Manager Catherine Sivills said the hospital network’s new imaging rates allow patients on Anthem to have their scans done at any Baptist Health location in Kentucky.

Anthem is requiring many patients to get MRI or CT scans at independent imaging centers instead of hospital-owned outpatient facilities due to cost gaps. Hospital imaging is typically more expensive than scans at independent centers.

Sivills said Baptist Health’s rates are competitive with any free-standing or hospital-based provider in the market.
