A memorial recognizing local sacrifices in the effort to end the Global War on Terrorism will be unveiled in Paducah on Memorial Day.
Local resident Nathan Torian raised $65,000 to build the memorial in remembrance of his brother and a high school friend who both died while serving in the Middle East.
The monument is in Dolly McNutt Memorial Plaza. The city park also contains memorials for World War Two, the Korean War and the Vietnam War.
Members of the Operation Enduring Freedom Fund are organizing the unveiling, which starts at 10 a.m.
