Frankfort, KY – The Kentucky Lottery Corporation's board of directors has given the go-ahead for the state to join the mega-millions game. Kentucky will continue to sell tickets for another large-jackpot game, power ball, which is played on Wednesday and Saturday nights in 31 states. Kentucky lottery corporation president Arch Gleason says mega millions is currently played in a dozen states on Tuesdays and Fridays. Its Kentucky launch is set for late January. He expects other states will follow suit.
" so the expectatation is that jackpots will roll up to the levels of 100 million and
200 million more rapidly and we'll see more jackpots at those levels."
Lottery proceeds returned to the state are used for scholarships and other education programs.
