Helping Hands sets example for food safety

Cadiz, Ky. – This holiday season is proving to be a tough one for Trigg County residents, which has one of the highest unemployment rates in Kentucky. One of its area food banks, Helping Hands, reports need has risen 40 percent over the last year. They've been hard at work in recent months to keep shelves stocked with quality food. Whether your food comes from the supermarket, a food pantry or your own farm, one Pennyrile District Health Department supervisor emphasizes the consumer's responsibility to safely prepare and store food.
