Murray, Ky. – The bard or not the bard? That is the question, or so says one Hollywood director.

This month, Murray State University hosts its annual Shakespeare Festival, which includes films, lectures, workshops and performances of Macbeth, As You Like It, and Measure for Measure. In a movie opening this fall titled Anonymous, director Roland Emmerich, who brought audiences films like Independence Day, takes on a theory that Shakespeare did not, in fact, write the works that have endured for four centuries. On that note, festival chair Professor Rusty Jones joined Jacque Day in our studios for this discussion.

Murray Shakespeare Festival activities kick off Thursday, February 10, with performances running February 15 through 18. See a full lineup at murraystate.edu/shakespeare.
