The McCracken County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an alleged inappropriate relationship between a McCracken County Public Schools teacher and a student.
District spokeswoman Jayme Jones said a female teacher resigned Tuesday in connection with the investigation. The district is conducting its own investigation and communicating with law enforcement, according to a statement released by superintendent Quin Sutton.
"The top priority of McCracken County Public Schools is to ensure a safe learning environment for all students," Sutton said in the release.
Neither the Sheriff’s Office nor MCPS would confirm which school employed the teacher that resigned, the age of the student or any more details at this time.
