The two people who embezzled more than $200,000 from the Paducah/McCracken County Convention and Expo Center will serve two year and 18 month respective prison sentences.
Former convention and expo center director J. Patrick Kerr received the two year sentence with two years of supervised release. His accomplice Susan Wilson received an 18 month sentence with two years of supervised release. Chief U.S. District Judge Joseph H. McKinley, Jr. also ordered Kerr and Wilson to pay $248,120 in restitution. There is no parole or “shock” probation in the federal justice system.
Kerr and Wilson both pleaded guilty in March to federal theft and embezzlement charges. Convention Center Corporation officials discovered the embezzlement scheme in October of last year. It had been going on for about 13 months feeding Kerr’s admitted pain pill addiction. U.S. Attorney's officials say the Wilson and Kerr are out on bond for another 30 days before they must turn themselves into prison officials.
The former Executive Director and vendor of the Paducah-McCracken County Convention Center Corporation were each sentenced to terms of imprisonment today, in
after pleading guilty to theft and embezzlement of property, announced David J. Hale, United States Attorney for the Western District of Kentucky.
