Tennessee unemployment rates are showing a better outlook than previous months.
The new figures come from the Tennessee Department of Labor.
In our area, Montgomery County had the lowest unemployment rate at 5.8 percent for March, with a close to one percent decrease from the same time last year. Henry County and Weakley Counties were also low at 7.1 percent and 7.3 respectively.
However Houston, Obion and Carroll Counties have some of the highest unemployment rates in the state at over 9 percent each showing only marginal decreases from last year.
Across the state, unemployment dropped in 88 counties, increased in five and remained the same in two.
