Cadiz, KY – The Trigg County Industrial Park will receive 780 thousand dollars in federal funding to help reel in new business. First District U-S Representative Ed Whitfield announced the Economic Development Administration funding in a press release earlier this week. Trigg county officials will use the funds toward constructing a drainage system and a multi-purpose parking area. Executive Director Sharon Butts says talks are in the works with a company but she can't disclose its name until the two reach a formal agreement. The initiative could create up to 150 new jobs and retain 60 more. The announcement is good news to the county which has one of the highest unemployment rates in the state. Butts hopes to make a formal announcement in the coming weeks.
